Thank you for visiting our new Internet-Site. On these pages you will find key information on pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics.

Currently, our pages are still under construction. To date, you will only find information on the key definitions. Links on some selected important other pages will follow soon.
In the future, we will broaden the information given in order to truely reflect the most current state of knowledge in this exciting new field. Please visit us again!

Definitions

Pharmacogenetics is the study of (hereditary) DNA sequence variation as it relates to drug response (efficacy, safety).
Thus, pharmacogenetics studies static molecular (genetic) factors.

Pharmacogenomics is the study of any genomic variation (on the DNA, RNA, or protein level) as it relates to drug response (efficacy, safety).
Thus, pharmacogenomics (also) includes dynamic (in addition to static) molecular parameters.
However, there are several different other definitions also in use.
